Joint Pain and Women's Health in Brampton After 40

Women's health needs shift with every decade. Many women in their forties, fifties and beyond describe the same things: knees that ache on the stairs, a lower back that stiffens by mid-afternoon, and a growing worry about slipping on an icy sidewalk. These changes are common, and many of them respond well to the right care.

At EPIC Health and Movement, our approach to women's health in Brampton centres on healthy aging: staying strong, steady and independent for as long as possible. Our team treats joint and spine pain and leads a supervised exercise program for knee and hip osteoarthritis.

Fall Prevention for Women in Brampton

About one in three older adults falls each year, according to World Health Organization figures cited by the Public Health Agency of Canada, and older women have higher rates of fall injuries than men. The same report states that falls are preventable.

We assess spinal and joint movement, strength and balance, then build a plan around exercises you can repeat at home with our kinesiology and chiropractic teams. Dr. Saakshi Khosla, DC, RAc, works mainly with older adults and takes part in community fall prevention outreach.

Osteoporosis and Joint Pain: Age-Related Concerns for Women

Osteoporosis is a major women's health concern in Canada. Osteoporosis Canada reports that at least one in three Canadian women will break a bone because of it. Bone loss speeds up as women approach menopause and causes no symptoms until a bone breaks, so if you are 65 or older, or have broken a bone after 40, ask your family doctor about a bone density test. Chiropractic care does not treat osteoporosis itself, but our chiropractors treat the back pain and stiffness that often come with it, adapting techniques to your bone health.

Osteoarthritis and joint pain

Knee and hip osteoarthritis make walking, stairs and getting out of a chair harder, and that loss of movement raises fall risk. If you are searching for osteoarthritis treatment in Brampton, the GLA:D program below is a good place to start.

Healthy aging care is a core part of women's health. It keeps you moving well as your body changes by managing joint and back pain, building strength and balance, and lowering your risk of falls.

Staying active with the right exercise, combined with chiropractic, acupuncture or a structured program like GLA:D, can reduce pain and stiffness. An assessment shows which option fits you.

Strength and balance exercise, a review of your joints and spine, supportive footwear and a safer home all help. An assessment lets us tailor the plan to you.

Chiropractors do not treat osteoporosis itself, so speak with your doctor about bone density testing and treatment. We care for the back pain and movement problems that can come with it, using techniques adapted to your bone health.

Adults with knee or hip osteoarthritis who want less pain and more activity. You can register through our GLA:D page.
